⚖ IB intellectual property
IB exam questions, question banks, mark schemes and curriculum guides are copyrighted, and current IB rules specifically prohibit using IB intellectual property to train or build AI tools without written permission. This platform therefore contains only original, school-authored content. No past papers were ingested, no mark schemes were used for grading, and no IB material sits in the retrieval layer. Written permission should be requested via ai@ibo.org before any IB-owned material is introduced, and licensing questions go to copyright@ibo.org.
🔐 Data protection — Bahrain Law No. 30 of 2018 (PDPL)
A data-protection impact assessment is required before deployment. This prototype stores minimal data, uses aliases on all public leaderboards, allows students to opt out of ranking, keeps every teacher action auditable, and lets students flag unsafe AI output. There is no private unmonitored teacher–student messaging and no mailbox indexing.
✓ Grading authority
The AI never awards a formal mark. Correctness is decided by deterministic verification — numeric checking, algebraic equivalence by randomised sampling, and a structured rubric engine. The model only phrases feedback. A recommended mark plus a confidence level is offered to the teacher, who remains authoritative. Every mastery change is auditable in the teacher command centre.
⚠ What this prototype does NOT yet do
No school SSO or role-based access control. No LTI/OneRoster integration. No parent portal. No AA/AI and SL/HL content branching beyond the schema. Curriculum pathway confirmation is still required from APG: Mathematics AA or AI, SL or HL, Business Management SL or HL, and DP or CP pathway. The IB is introducing updated mathematics materials for first assessment in 2029, so all content is version-tagged rather than hard-coded.
